Tour Three Info Turkey
– A Blue Voyage and Upper Mesopotamia Trip
Length – 15 days,
14 nights Here it is! Our third, much requested itinerary, designed for enthusiasts of Turkey and those who want to return for another PMI Tours adventure. Join us on a 50/50 combination land and sea journey limited to 8 guests. Cruise the Lycian Coast of the Mediterranean and explore remote Southern Anatolia. The custom of cruising the Mediterranean coast of Turkey began in the early 1960’s on board a local fishing vessel. The sailing yacht used today is called a gulet and is vastly different from this first fishing vessel. Enjoy your “BLUE VOYAGE” in the comfort of a 32-meter, luxuriously appointed gulet designed to provide every convenience. The interior is handcrafted using smooth mahogany and black pine with furnishings meeting the highest standard. The wide, spacious sunbathing decks and lounging areas, providing a combination of shade and sun, are clad in teak. The gulet design speaks of luxury yachting with only four spacious air-conditioned cabins each with its own complete ensuite. With a maximum guest capacity of eight, you cruise in ultimate comfort. PMI TOURS consults and directs the total menu selection. Nothing is left to chance! You are pampered and provided with the ultimate in service and relaxation by the Captain, a Crewman and a Chef extraordinaire. A professional Turkish-English guide accompanies the voyage. The unique “BLUE VOYAGE” itinerary is arranged according to our specifications. Experience our handpicked coastal sites while mooring in beautiful and isolated bays for the evening. Sleep outside under the stars on the spacious decks or in the comfortable cabins below. Provide your mind and
body with the ultimate experience in sea cruising! The “UPPER MESOPOTAMIA” land portion of this trip stretches from the Plains of Mesopotamia to the top of Mount Nemrut at 2150 meters. This vast region of Turkey is unchanged making it an impressive area for the adventurous traveler. Southern Anatolia is a land of extensive frontiers lived in and fought over throughout the centuries. As a result, the centres we visit are cultural melting pots with Armenians and Syrian Orthodox living alongside Arabs, Kurds and Turks. Visits include traditional Arab houses, Syrian Orthodox monasteries, beehive houses, the pool of Abraham, Selcuk and Ottoman mosques as well as ruins from the Urartian and Roman eras. Cross the ancient Euphrates River by ferry and view the Ataturk Dam. Climb to the top of Mount Nemrut for the spectacular sight of the huge stone statue heads of Antiochus I and the Gods, silently guarding the mountaintop terraces. The stone covered bazaars of the area predominate with artisans
performing traditional crafts and skills just as they have been
performed for hundreds of years. A
